PerformaSleep 2.0 Mattress Review

My takeBest for Big guys replacing worn mattresses

My old mattress had a valley in it where I sleep, and the first time I laid on this one I felt the support on my back right away. My wife liked it too, which matters more. First impressions only. I'll tell you how it holds up once I've used it longer.

Buy it if

  • Buy it if your old mattress has a dip where you sleep.
  • Buy it if you're a big guy who needs support, not a bed that swallows you.
  • Buy it if you and your wife like different things. She called it soft and firm.

Skip it if

  • Skip it if you need a long-term track record first. I don't have one yet.
  • Skip it if you have nobody to help carry a king up the stairs.

What I don't love

It's heavy

The king is pretty heavy to carry up the stairs. Get help.

Give it time to fill out

It still had a curve from being folded and some filling up to do. I'm sure it'll flatten out, but it wasn't all the way there on day one.

Only first impressions

I hadn't slept on it yet when I filmed this. Sleep and durability are still open questions.

No more valley

Unboxing the king, letting it expand, and the first lay-down. Good edge support, and my wife almost fell asleep on it.

Questions I get

How does the PerformaSleep 2.0 ship?

Compressed and rolled in a box. You cut the plastic and it starts expanding right away. Be careful with the knife.

Is it soft or firm?

My wife said it best. It's soft and firm. Soft on top, and I felt the support on my back right away.

How's the edge support?

Good. Sitting on the edge, it holds up and bounces right back when you stand up.

Does it work for a big guy?

At 6'5" and 270 lbs, I didn't feel like I was sinking into a valley. Ask me again after a few months.
