Nuropod Vagus Nerve Stimulator Review

Updated September 2026 First impressions · First tested September 2026 · 1 video

My take so farStill testing it Best for Dads who can't switch off

Setup is simple, it clips on your ear and stays put, and at the right level it feels like a TENS unit on your tragus. Finding that level took some patience. One five-minute session tells you how it works, not whether it works. I'm still testing it with my wife, and I'll tell you what I really think in a few weeks.

Buy it if

  • Buy it if you want to try vagus nerve stimulation without a complicated setup.
  • Buy it if you want to move around while you use it. The cable reaches a pocket, even on a 6'5" guy.
  • Buy it if you have HSA or FSA money to spend. It's eligible for US customers.
  • Buy it if a 37-day return window makes it an easier thing to try.

Skip it if

  • Skip it if you want proof it works. I've done one session so far.
  • Skip it if you won't use it every day. Parasym recommends 15 to 60 minutes a day.
  • Skip it if you expect to feel a difference on day one. From what I've read, it takes a couple of weeks.

What I don't love

Finding your level takes patience

I felt nothing on the low levels, overshot to 37, and settled at 27. I didn't put a little moisture on my tragus first, and I think that's why it took so long. Go slow.

Too early to call

One five-minute session tells you how it works, not whether it works. I won't pretend otherwise.

It looks a little goofy

A clip on your ear and a wire over the top. It's comfortable, but I'm sure it looks a little goofy.

Unboxing and my first session

What's in the box, how it clips onto your tragus, the setup steps, and how I found my energy level on a first five-minute session.

Questions I get

What is the Nuropod supposed to do?

Parasym says regular use can help with stress, sleep quality, energy, fatigue, recovery and HRV. I can't confirm any of that yet. I'll tell you what I see after a few weeks.

Does the Nuropod hurt?

Not at the right level. It feels like a TENS unit on your ear, a steady tingle. If it's uncomfortable, it's set too high. Turn it down.

What energy level should I use?

There's no one right number. Raise it slowly, stop at the first light tingle, and adjust until the pulse is comfortable. I ended up at 27. Don't copy mine.

Will I feel a difference right away?

Probably not. I didn't feel anything change during my first session, and from what I've read it takes a couple of weeks of consistent use.

Can I use HSA or FSA money on it?

Yes, for US customers. Nuropod offers HSA and FSA payment at checkout.
