PRx Profile Flat Folding Bench Review

Updated September 2026 with my 6-month review · First tested July 2025 · 3 videos

My takeBest for Profile rack owners

If you've already got a Profile rack on the wall, this is the bench to hang next to it. It folds up in one motion, and once you're on it, it feels like a normal bench. The catch is it's flat only, and PRx doesn't publish a weight capacity for it.

Buy it if

  • Buy it if you already have a Profile CORE, PRO or Murphy rack on the wall.
  • Buy it if your gym shares a room and the bench has to disappear between sessions.
  • Buy it if you mostly press flat and do dumbbell work.
  • Buy it if you're fine drilling into studs where you want it.

Skip it if

  • Skip it if you want incline work. Go straight to the incline model.
  • Skip it if you need a published weight capacity on paper before you buy.
  • Skip it if you have the floor space. An adjustable floor bench gives you more for the money.

What I don't love

No published capacity

PRx lists no weight capacity, pad thickness or steel gauge for this bench. Their incline bench lists 1,000 lb. This one lists dimensions and stops.

Flat only

No incline, no flyes at an angle. The incline version is the upgrade, and it's almost twice the money.

Gas shocks are fiddly

Seating the gas shocks into the bracket was the one annoying install step. If it won't seat, screw the stud in a few more turns and hold the bottom of the bracket out from the wall.

Questions I get

What's the weight capacity?

PRx doesn't publish one for the flat bench. It's held me at 270 plus a loaded bar, but that's my experience, not a rating. If you need a number, ask PRx before you order.

Is a wall-mounted bench actually safe?

It's bolted into studs at the top and has a support leg at the far end, so your weight isn't all hanging on the wall anchors.

How much room does it take?

Down, it sits 18 inches off the wall and comes 63 inches into the room. Folded, it stands 61 inches tall against the wall.

Flat or incline?

Incline if the budget allows. It's $949.99 against $499.99 for the flat, so only you know if that's in the budget.

Does it come assembled?

Yes. It ships assembled with the mounting hardware. You're hanging it, not building it.
