Xendurance Essential Review

Updated December 2022 with my December 2022 overview · First covered May 2022 · 2 videos

My takeBest for Non-athletes and aging parents

My score: 5 out of 5

Essential and Extreme Endurance are literally the exact same product, just two different bags. Essential is for people who don't think of themselves as athletes, like my mom, who won't go a day without it. If you train hard, buy Extreme Endurance instead. The catch is these are overviews I made for Xendurance, not my own long-term test.

Buy it if

  • Buy it if you want what's in Extreme Endurance but you're not an athlete.
  • Buy it if you're buying for a parent who'd never pick up a bag that says Extreme Endurance.
  • Buy it if you're putting together Xendurance's Foundation bundle. Essential is the anchor of it.

Skip it if

  • Skip it if you train hard. Buy Extreme Endurance, it's the same stuff.
  • Skip it if you already take Extreme Endurance. Don't buy both.
  • Skip it if you want my own long-term results. These are overviews.

Before you buy

What I don't love

It's not a different product

Essential and Extreme Endurance are the same formula with a different name on the bag. Xendurance didn't change the product, just the packaging.

No long-term test on camera

Both videos are overviews I made as a Xendurance team leader. My parents are the proof, not a test I ran on myself.

The big numbers are Xendurance's

The 39% and 26% figures come from Xendurance's studies, not anything I measured.

May 2022 · Overview

Literally the same product

Why there are two bags for one formula, what Xendurance's studies say it does, and the rotten apple way I explain oxidative stress.

Questions I get

Is Essential the same as Extreme Endurance?

Yes. Literally the exact same product. Xendurance didn't change the formula, they just changed the packaging.

So why are there two?

Extreme Endurance was made for athletes. Your grandma isn't going to buy something called Extreme Endurance because she doesn't think she needs it. Essential is the same thing with a name everybody can get behind.

Which one should I buy?

If you train hard or care about performance, get Extreme Endurance. If you want it for everyday health, get Essential. Same stuff either way.

What does Xendurance say it does?

Xendurance says it's been clinically shown to reduce oxidative stress by 39% in as little as 10 days, and to cut lactic acid by 26%.

How do I know if it's working?

Take it for a while, then come off it and see how you feel.

Essential and Extreme Endurance are the same product

This is the thing you have to understand before anything else. Essential and Extreme Endurance are literally the exact same product. There are just two packages. Xendurance didn't change the formula at all, they changed the bag.

So this page isn't really about which one is better. It's about which bag you should buy.

Why there are two bags

Extreme Endurance is the flagship Xendurance product. The founder made it for performance, to help athletes buffer lactic acid, and it's been put through multiple clinical studies since then.

The problem is the name. Your grandma isn't going to buy something called Extreme Endurance, because she's going to tell you she doesn't need extreme endurance. The name was a bit abrasive to everyday people.

So Xendurance launched Essential, which is the same thing with a name that's easier for most people to get behind. It's also the anchor of their Foundation bundle.

What Xendurance says it does

These are the company's numbers, not anything I measured. Xendurance says the formula has been clinically shown to reduce oxidative stress by 39 percent in as little as 10 days, and to cut lactic acid by 26 percent.

Lactic acid is the easy one to explain. If you've ever worked out, you know that soreness that builds up while you're moving. That's the part the 26 percent figure is about.

Oxidative stress is harder, and most people get a glazed look when I say it. The way I explain it is an apple. Cut one open and let it sit, and it starts to brown. That browning is oxidation. Xendurance's pitch is that the same kind of thing happens to your cells, and this formula is aimed at that.

If you want to test it for yourself, the best way I know is to take it for a while, then come off of it and see how you feel.

My parents are the proof

I showed these products to my parents, and they both got on them. My dad has always been an athlete. My mom has never been an athlete, and she will not go a day without her Essential.

They took Extreme Endurance before that, mostly because I'm their son and they trusted me. Once they saw the Essential bag, that's what they stuck with. Same product, the packaging is just a little more appealing to them.

What you should know about my videos

I made both of these in 2022 as a Xendurance team leader. One is a short product overview. The other is a longer talk where I walk through the product and the science Xendurance has behind it.

Neither one is a long-term test I ran on myself on camera. If that's what you're looking for, I don't have it for this product.

Which one should you buy?

If you train hard or care about performance, buy Extreme Endurance. If you want it for everyday health, or you're buying for a parent who would never pick up a bag that says Extreme Endurance, buy Essential.

It's the same stuff either way, so don't buy both. Xendurance has a 60-day money back guarantee if it turns out it's not for you.
