Xendurance Creatine-JB Review
Updated September 2024 with my creatine advice videos · First covered November 2022 · 3 videos
My score: 4.5 out of 5
If you're finally starting creatine, this is an easy one to take every day. It's Creapure creatine monohydrate in a lemon citrus flavor you can drink by itself, mix with other Xendurance stuff, or slam like a shot. The catch is my Creatine-JB video is a 2022 product overview, and my newer videos are about creatine in general, not this product.

Buy it if
- Buy it if you want a creatine that tastes good enough to drink by itself.
- Buy it if you want to toss your creatine in with your other Xendurance drinks.
- Buy it if you're over 40 and want to start with the basics before the expensive stuff.
- Buy it if you'll actually take it every day, not just on workout days.
Skip it if
- Skip it if you want plain unflavored creatine.
- Skip it if you're only going to take it now and then. Creatine works best when you're consistent.

What I don't love
Keep it away from caffeine
I space my creatine two and a half to three hours from caffeine. That's why I take mine at night before bed.
It's a daily thing
Skip days and you lose some of the benefit. If you're spending the money, take it every day.
One product video
My Creatine-JB video is an overview from 2022. The newer videos are general creatine advice, not a test of this product.

Start with creatine first
General creatine advice, not a Creatine-JB review. Why guys over 40 should start with creatine before chasing the expensive stuff, and how much to take.

Take it every single day
General creatine advice, not a Creatine-JB review. Why consistency matters more than timing, and why I take mine at night.

Creapure in a lemon flavor
What Creatine-JB is, why it can be taken by itself, how it tastes, and my tip on spacing it from caffeine.
Questions I get
How much creatine should I take?
Start with 3 to 5 grams a day. You can do a loading phase if you want, you don't have to. It just gets your muscles saturated faster.
When should I take it?
Consistency matters more than timing. Post-workout seems a little better than pre-workout, but take it every day, not just on workout days. I take mine at night before bed.
Can I take it with my pre-workout?
I'd keep it away from caffeine. I space it two and a half to three hours apart for the best absorption.
What does Creatine-JB taste like?
Lemon citrus. Good enough to drink by itself, light enough to mix with other Xendurance products. I'll even take it like a shot.
What kind of creatine is it?
Creapure creatine monohydrate. Xendurance says it's 99.98% pure and has a delivery system so you can take it by itself.

Who this creatine is for
Creatine-JB is the Xendurance creatine, and it's a good one for the guy who's finally getting started. It's flavored, it tastes good, and it's easy to take every day, which is the whole game with creatine.
If you want plain unflavored creatine, this isn't that. And if you're only going to take it now and then, save your money.
This is the creatine I take. At least two scoops every day.
What it is
It's Creapure creatine monohydrate. Xendurance says it's 99.98 percent pure, which they call the purest form of creatine available.
Xendurance also says it has a delivery mechanism attached to it that helps get the creatine to your muscles. The point of that is you can take it completely by itself.
How it tastes
It's a lemon citrus flavor. It tastes good enough that you could drink it by itself, and it's light enough that you can mix it in with any of the other Xendurance products.
It's also good enough that you could take it like a shot, just like you would a Pixy Stick. Yeah, I really do that.
Why I tell guys to start with creatine
I've been helping people with supplements for over a decade, and I've been taking creatine for just as long, if not longer. It's one of the most widely researched supplements out there.
I get asked all the time about the one supplement guys in their 40s should be on. A lot of guys think they need to jump straight to the advanced stuff. Start with creatine first. It's cheap, and you want that foundation in place before you spend money on anything else.
The simple version of how it works is that creatine helps restore the energy in your cells. That's why people use it for recovery and strength.
How I take it
Start with 3 to 5 grams a day. You can do a loading phase if you want, but you don't have to. All that does is get your muscles saturated faster.
Take it every single day, not just on the days you work out. Your muscles are like a sponge, and once that saturation starts to fade, the sponge doesn't work as well. Post-workout seems to be a little better than pre-workout, but timing isn't as important as consistency.
I take mine every night before I go to bed. If you're going to spend the money on a supplement, you might as well take it the right way.
Keep it away from caffeine
This is my one recommendation that surprises people. I try to space creatine two and a half to three hours from any caffeine. Caffeine is a diuretic, and it could get in the way of absorbing the creatine.
That's the real reason mine goes down at night. It also means I wouldn't dump it in with a caffeinated pre-workout.
What these videos are and aren't
I've only made one video about Creatine-JB itself. It's a short product overview from 2022, when I was a Xendurance team leader. It covers what it is and what it tastes like. It's not a long-term test.
My two newer videos, from 2024, are about creatine in general. Everything in them applies here, but I don't talk about this product in either one.
Who should buy it
Buy it if you want a creatine that tastes good enough to drink on its own, especially if you're already mixing other Xendurance drinks. Buy it if a flavor you like is what gets you to take it every day.
Skip it if you want unflavored, or if you know you won't be consistent. Xendurance has a 60-day money back guarantee if you try it and it's not for you.
