Mooncool TK Pro Folding E-Trike Review

Updated August 2026 with my 1-month review · First tested April 2026 · 2 videos

My takeBest for Couples sharing one ride

My wife wanted it, and I ended up riding it way more than I planned. The backrest is comfortable, the step-through frame is easy to get on, and the seat adjusts for both of us. The catch is the chain pops off if you pedal backward while moving, and it's long, so measure your garage first.

Buy it if

  • Buy it if you and your wife want to share one ride.
  • Buy it if a regular bike seat wrecks your back.
  • Buy it if you want big baskets for errands and park runs.
  • Buy it if you want something that doesn't need balance like a two-wheeler.

Skip it if

  • Skip it if you don't have five and a half feet to park it.
  • Skip it if you want speed. It tops out around 15.5 mph.
  • Skip it if the whole family rides together and you're only buying one.
"If you're putting this together yourself, I would highly recommend using a drill."

What I don't love

The chain

It's popped off a couple times when I pedaled backward while moving. I push it back on by hand and it's fine, but at this price I'd rather it didn't.

It's long

At 65 inches, finding a spot in a garage full of kids' bikes has been a real headache.

Get the drill

The included tools work, but my hands didn't fit between the basket and the fender. I gave up and got the drill.

You'll want two

If only one person has a trike, everybody else is on a regular bike trying to keep up.

Next I'm running the battery dead on one long ride to see the real range. I'll add that here.

I didn't think I'd ride it

A month in: the comfort, the chain issue, what I haven't tested yet, and why you should measure your garage.

95% assembled, they say

Unboxing, the full build with the included tools, and my wife taking the first ride.

Questions I get

How hard is it to put together?

It says 95% assembled. You still put on the front wheel, front basket and headlight, the seat, and the rear fenders. Use a drill for the fenders.

How does it ship?

FedEx, and mine showed up in a couple of days. No freight delivery. It's heavy, so help your driver get it off the truck.

Can a tall guy and a shorter wife share it?

Yes. The seat slides and adjusts, and my wife and I share it.

Have you tested the range?

Not yet. I haven't run it down to empty on one ride, so I won't quote you a number. That's coming.

Have you folded it?

No. I drive a truck, so I've never needed to. If folding into a trunk matters to you, find someone who's done it.
