Speediance Gym Monster 2: Unboxing, Assembly, and Initial Review

Being a present dad means protecting your time as much as your family. Every minute spent driving to a commercial gym is a minute stolen from your wife and kids.

I’m Big Mike - 23-year pro wrestler, husband, and father of three girls - and I personally test every piece of gear before I put my name on it. This time I unboxed, assembled, and set up the Speediance Gym Monster 2 from scratch.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX

The Monster 2 ships as a core unit plus attachments - the AeroRow rower and an adjustable bench. Setup means managing the cables, mounting the attachments, and working through the initial firmware updates before you ever lift.

THE SETUP PROCESS

Power up first, then don’t skip the firmware update - it matters. From there it’s learning the screen interface, testing digital resistance against real iron, and trying out the AeroRow attachment and bench for stability.

THE UPGRADES

This is the 2.0 version, and the improvements show up in noise and performance. The AI Spotter and safety features add a layer of protection a barbell alone can’t give you.

FINAL VERDICT

Does it fit the legacy you’re building? If you need professional-grade strength training that fits in the corner of your house and gives you back the hours you’d lose driving to a gym, yes. The Gym Monster 2 is a real shortcut to staying strong without leaving your family.
