So I just found out that Tru Grit Fitness is releasing an air bike. And in this video, we're going to take a look at it. I'm going to give you my first impressions and a little preview of what True Grit is calling the Tru Grit Reaper bike. Hey, my name is Mike Berens, and I'm here to help you perform better, recover faster, and live healthier.
And after a decade of owning a home gym, I'm always looking for new equipment and Tru Grit Fitness is a brand that I have come to know, like, and trust because they make high quality equipment that is durable to stand the test of time and a great investment for your home gym. So in this video, we're going to talk about one of their newest pieces of equipment called the Reaper Bike.
And I'm really excited about the fact that true Grit is releasing this bike, because I have one of those old Schwinn bikes from like 1970 that works great and it's awesome for what I need, but I wouldn't mind an upgrade. And so I'm looking forward to when this gets released. Now, at the time of this recording, the bike is only available for preorder, but it's a perfect time for us to take a look at it and see if it makes sense for your home gym.
So let's pop over to the website and take a look. So when we get over to the website, you can see that the bike just looks awesome. One of the things I liked about it right away was the red fan inside. I think this esthetic is pretty sweet. true. Grits equipment just looks cool. it works great too, and it's built really well, but it just looks really cool.
And that red fan blade looks awesome. Now, after the esthetic, one of the first things you're probably going to notice is that price tag. The $1,200 price tag is a little bit pricey compared to some other, air bikes on the market. So the rogue Echo bike, for example, is $845 right now it's on sale. Looks like this normally 895.
So 900 bucks. So a $300 price difference. But a couple of things that I want to point out as to why that price is different. One major, major thing with this is right here the eight levels of resistance. Now the rogue eco bike doesn't have that resistance, so the Reaper bike will have resistance to make it harder. And that's one of the things that really makes the Grit Runner Elite treadmill different, is that it has those different levels of resistance, so you can have an adjustable resistance when running to make the workouts harder.
And so with the Reaper bike, having those different levels of resistance is going to be huge. I know on the air bike that I currently have, you can adjust the resistance and most other air bikes on the market. You can't adjust the resistance. So for that extra $300, to be able to have the different varying levels of resistance is huge.
A couple other things to look at on the Reaper bike are that it's made from industrial grade steel, and it's styled with sleek, commercial grade plastic fairings now. Yeah, I had to look up what a fairing was to, but basically it's the molding that covers the mechanics of the bike to make it look so good. Other things about the Reaper bike.
Tru Grit says that it's connected with the smooth, belt driven design and an oversize fan to make it quieter, so we'll see about that when it when it actually comes out. If it's one of the quieter bikes on the market, some of those bikes can get really loud. I know my old bike is super freaking loud when I use it, so having a nice, quiet bike wouldn't be a bad thing.
And then as far as connectivity is concerned, it's going to have Bluetooth and AA capability so you can track your workouts and let's just run through the product details real quick. Magnetic resistance for eight levels. The monitors got Bluetooth capability powered by an LCD screen monitor display can be miles per hour or kilometers per hour. Transmission belt driven smooth, quiet rotation.
Oversize fans, oversize steel fan so they're not cheap plastic ones. Seat adjustments to five positions horizontally and eight vertical positions, so that'll be nice so you can adjust it to fit your body. The matte black finish is going to look good if the Grit Runner Elite tells me anything, the Reaper is going to look awesome in the matte black and then and then oversize transportation wheels.
We all know that those are super important when moving bikes around. You want to have good quality wheels so they don't break, so it makes it easy to move the bike around. And speaking of moving the bike around, let's take a look at the dimensions. So it's going to be 24in wide by 52in long and then 52in high at the handles.
The seats are going to adjust from a max height of 31in to as low as 24in, and it weighs 156 pounds. So it's not crazy heavy, but you're going to be glad you had those bigger wheels and this nice little handle on the back. So let's take a quick look at some of the other images that are available for the bike.
So here's a shot of the full bike. Gosh that looks good. I really like that red esthetic. The dimensions are there. Here's the resistance. So this is just a nod to turn it to crank it up so it'll be easy to adjust while you're actually in the workout. Then the heavy duty wheels on the front look pretty good, and then a shot of the back of the bike with the handle for easy maneuverability.
And then something that excites me about the seat is that it looks like it's a wider seat. And for a big guy like myself, it's going to be nice to have actual seat that can hold me, as opposed to those real skinny seats that are comfortable for no one. One last thing to look at is True grit. Put together a promo video for the bike, so let's take a look at it.
Quick adjustment. Make it harder.
Just a seat at the beginning. Let's go back and watch that again.
Yeah. Quick seat adjustment.
Display looks nice. You know.
Man, that's a good looking bike. And obviously, I know the lighting is all set up to make it look good, but it is a pretty good looking bike. So anyway, the ease of adjusting that resistance on the fly while you're going is something that I really think is going to set this bike apart. So that's it for my preview of the Tru Grit Reaper bike.
I can't wait to get my hands on this. And when I do, I will do a full breakdown, full review of the product to show you the ins and outs and everything that you need to know about the bike. Answer any questions that you might have, so leave a comment with any questions and I'll answer those in my initial review video when I get the bike.
I don't have a release date yet, but I'll definitely update the description when I do and I'll leave my affiliate link there if you want to make a purchase. So stay tuned to the channel for more on the True Grit Reaper bike and other equipment that you can add to your home gym and ways that you can perform better.
